What is the title of the current chapter of your life?
Something for me!

A picture of my daughter and her friend

What is your favourite mom accessory?
My daughter

What is something (not your family) that you can't live without?

If you were a TV/movie mom, who would you be?
Lynette from Desperate Housewives

What is your current job?
Direct Services Supervisor of Child Care at Tikinagan Child and Family Services

What do you love most about your job?
Showing children and youth that someone cares about them and believes they will be successful.

What do you like least about your job?
Dealing with stupidity.

What is the hardest thing about being a mom who also works?
Trying to balance being a great mom and being great at my job. Being a social worker takes a lot of heart and soul and so does being a mom.

What is the best thing about being a mom who also works?
Showing my children how one can work hard and still be a great parent.

Sometimes as moms we think we can "do it all". Do you think this is possible?
No we can’t do it all but we can do the best we can. I want to teach my daughter that she doesn’t have to do it all as a mom who may or may not work. I don’t want her to feel that pressure like I have always worrying about what people are thinking or if they are judging me about being a good mom.

Mom-guilt is something a lot of moms struggle with. Is this something that you struggle with? Is there anything you do to help you overcome/get through your mom guilt?
Yes I suffer from mom guilt. I get over my guilt when my children tell me what a great job I am doing or tell me they love me. When one of my friends tells me I have great kids or I am a good mom it also makes my guilt disappear. I think we need to let our friends know they are doing a great job more often!

What advice would you give to a new mom who is trying to balance her family and her job?
Listen to your heart and do whats best for your family and not everyone else’s.
